Our perceptions, emotions and resulting behaviors are "not" a product of our rational, critical, analytical thought processes. Perceptions are constructed by the emotional, intuitive, perceptual subconscious. When we understand how to access that part of human consciousness we can remove barriers to progress, eliminate destructive behaviors, enhance performance, eliminate fears, and much more. It can help us to meet our full potential. Hypnotherapy helps people "reprogram for success".

Instructor: Philip Holder, PhD. - Certified Hypnotherapist, began studying hypnosis in 1972. Certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists, The National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists, The International Association of Counselors and Therapists, and the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and others. He is a member in good standing and licensed through the Hypnotism Society of Pennsylvania and was a nominee to the Hypnosis Hall of Fame in 2000 and 2001. Dr Holder has won numerous awards for his contributions to the hypnotherapy profession and is a published author and columnist.

Semester I - Module 1 Topics (September 15th):

Initial course topics teach the relationship between the conscious and the subconscious mind, myths and facts about hypnosis, the principles involved in inducing hypnosis, what can prevent hypnosis, client preparation and more! Students will learn how to use "direct suggestion" in making both hypnotic and post-hypnotic suggestion for uses in areas such as, weight management, stress management and smoking cessation. Students will learn about the different schools or thought and hypnotherapeutic methods. They will also learn how to induce hypnosis using "Rapid Induction" methods. This is a hands-on course module. Students will learn and then practice their skills with each other. The overall goal of this module is learning how to "induce hypnosis and make direct suggestion".

Semester I - Module 2 Topics:

This module focuses on what is called the "Intake". The intake is important because it is the time within a hypnotherapy session where the hypnotherapist gathers the necessary information with which he or she will structure effective sessions for their client. Students will learn how to ask the right questions and how to convert that information into powerful suggestions during the hypnotherapeutic process. Additional rapid induction methods of inducing hypnosis as well as specific hypnotherapeutic techniques will be covered. This also is a hands-on course module. Students will learn and then practice their skills with each other.

Semester 2 Module 1 Topics (Starts January 19th):

This module takes training to the next level. Additional "Rapid" and "Instant" induction methods will be added to student's toolbox.  Regression therapy, working with abreaction, pain management and additional specific therapies are covered (e.g. groups, performance enhancement, fears, guilt management etc.). There is also a specific segment devoted to practice management. The reason for practice management training… Even if someone is a terrific hypnotherapist, he or she will only be able to help themselves and others if they can run a successful practice and make a respectable living. Advertising, office management etc. will be covered. This is also a hands-on course module. Students will learn and then practice their skills with each other.

Semester 2 Module 2 Topics:

Final Stage to become a

"Certified Hypnotherapist"

This module completes the certification process (Although some students will continue on by taking our advanced certification program). This module, in effect, acts as an internship. You will be practicing with volunteer subjects, from the general public, doing actual hypnotherapy sessions under the guidance and supervision of your course instructor (and staff). This is an important stepping stone

between academic study and actual practice. Students often comment that this module gave them a tremendous boost in confidence prior to going into private practice. Students demonstrate proficiency in the skills that they have learned while receiving valuable feedback from the course instructor. As well, you will have the opportunity to ask questions concerning all material covered throughout all course modules.

Other Misc. Upcoming Courses (Check with us for details):

Registration for the following courses.

 Practice Management (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Having hypnosis/hypnotherapy skills is only one side of the equation. It is also important to have a working knowledge of practice management. This course is designed to help the student understand basic principles of practice management, advertising, etc. to provide a higher chance of success in professional practice.

Conduct an Effective Stop Smoking Session (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Smoke cessation is one of the main staples of a hypnotherapy practice. Successful smoke cessation sessions provide both income and referrals for other therapies. This class will provide insight into effective techniques that are conducive to an effective smoke cessation session.

Conduct an Effective Stress Management Session  (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  In recent years stress management has been an ever-growing part of most hypnotherapy practices. This course will help you to successfully provide clients with tools to manage stress, lead a happier and more productive life and to take back control of their lives from outside influences.

How to Conduct an Effective Weight Loss Session  (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Like smoke cessation, weight loss is one of the main staples of a hypnotherapy practice. Successful weight loss sessions provide both income and referrals for other therapies. This course will provide insight into effective techniques that will help you conduct more successful weight loss sessions.

Conducting An Effective Performance Enhancement Session  (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Performance enhancement is a growing area of hypnotherapy. This course will help you to help your clients or patients overcome self-imposed barriers to success and to maximize their potential. Business, sports, and other personal goals are areas covered in this course.

How to Conduct an Effective Regression Session  (4 hours)

Course Objectives:  Most of the time direct and/or indirect suggestion, work effectively for positive change. There are many cases, however, where finding the root of the problem through regression is necessary. This course teaches both effective regression techniques, and how to conduct a session without creating false memories (forensic hypnosis).

Past Life Regression  (4 hours)

Course Objectives:  The theory of past lives is intriguing. Whether you are a believer or not, this course will provide you with insight into both the concept and the therapeutic value of past life experience. Dr. Holder will show you how to conduct an effective Past Life Regression Session.

Rapid Inductions (4 hours)

Course Objectives:  In a clinical practice it is important to be able to achieve somnambulism in the shortest possible time. Speedy inductions with great depth are a great plus in your practice. Rapid inductions reduce workload, enable the therapist to see more people in fewer hours without sacrificing quality, and provide a better induction venue for clients or patients who cannot remain sedentary for extended periods of time due to back and neck injuries etc.

Meditation and Hypnosis   (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  What is trance? What similarities do meditation and hypnosis have? What differences do they have? What about “self hypnosis”? The answers to this and more are contained in this course.

Conducting an effective Pre-talk (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Perhaps the most important part of any hypnotherapy session is the pre-talk. This is where the hypnotherapist educates the client or patient, creates and/or strengthens rapport, and alleviates any client/patient fears. A great pre-talk can make the difference between success and failure in session. This course provides practical information and explains the components that should be part of a successful pre-talk thereby leading to greater success in session.

Conducting an Intake  (4 Hours)

Course Objectives:  The Intake, like the pre-talk is an essential component of successful session work. In the pre-talk, information flows from the therapist to the client or patient. In the intake, the information flows from the client or patient to the therapist. This is where the therapist gathers the information necessary for formulation of meaningful suggestions specifically tailored to the client or patient’s needs. This class will help you to conduct an effective intake.

Conducting a Group Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy Session  (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Groups are a great way to increase your income, get referrals, and gain exposure in your market place. This class explains the way that groups can help your practice and will show you proven strategies and techniques for conducting group sessions. Dr. Holder teaches a group induction that is both quick and effective and shows you how to structure and run groups of any size.

The Elman Induction  (3 hours)

Course Objectives:  Want to induce hypnosis and achieve somnambulism in only 4 to 5 minutes? The Elman induction is a rapid induction that when properly executed enables the therapist to achieve somnambulism with the vast majority of clients/patients on virtually each session… even on the first session. Dr. Holder will take you through each step of this exciting induction. He will explain how and why it is such a great induction. If you have never used the Elman induction this tape will show you how. If you already use this induction this class may very well give you greater insight into ways to make your induction even better.

Hypnosis for Natural Childbirth (3 hours)

Course objectives: Many expectant mothers would prefer to have little or no chemical pain killers during delivery.  Hypnosis for Natural Childbirth (hypnotherapeutic technique for helping mom and baby during childbirth) is becoming an increasingly popular integrative method for enhancing the joy of this miraculous experience. Dr. Holder teaches techniques to help your clients or patients reduce discomfort and stress for both mom and baby and to help make delivery the wonderful experience that it can be. Mom can be alert without the discomfort usually associated with childbirth and baby can have a less stressful arrival. This is a rapidly growing area in the field of hypnotherapy.

Great Opportunity For Hypnotists and Hypnotherapists

    Dear Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist,

We just wanted to let you know about the coaching practicum offered by Master's Center Institute of Hypnotherapy and Bucks College in Newtown PA. In the past this has been offered only to our graduating students. We are now extending the offer to hypnotists and hypnotherapists who have graduated from other hypnotherapy training programs.
Our practicum is where students who have graduated from the academic hypnotherapy courses, conduct hypnotherapy sessions on volunteer subjects under the supervision of course instructor Dr. Philip Holder. It provides participants with the opportunity to gain experience, be critiqued, and to receive suggestions on how they can improve their techniques.
Over the years we have received many requests from practicing hypnotists and hypnotherapists asking to participate in our Phase-4 (Practicum). We have been told by many hypnotists and hypnotherapists who have graduated from other programs that even after graduation (because most programs do not provide a practicum, and they have had no supervision while conduction actual sessions), that they still feel somewhat unprepared. We now offer the opportunity for hands-on work with supervision to anyone who has completed hypnosis and/or hypnotherapy training.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion from both Bucks College and Master's Center for completing the practicum good for CEU credits. If you would like our certification, we would be happy to discuss with you how to obtain that too. We can often offer you course credit for studies done in other reputable training programs expediting you through our certification process.

For more information about this great "Hands-On Learning Experience" contact Master's Center at 215-295-8062 or email to masters@masters-center.com

Re: Hypnotherapy Continuing Ed Courses

(Students must have completed Phase 1 & 2 training, or have a hypnosis/hypnotherapy background, or have had equivalent training, to enroll in hypnotherapy continuing ed classes.
===============================================================

The following classes are "Open to all"

(No hypnosis or hypnotherapy background required).

Dreams and their meaning: TBA

Dreams are not random... They have meaning. Ever wonder what your dreams really mean. Dr. Holder helps you to better understand your dreams and their significance in your life.

Goal Achievement / Program Yourself for Success: TBA

What the mind perceives as real is real to the mind. Our belief in our abilities is just as important to success and accomplishment as any physical effort that we put in. What you can visualize, you can more readily accomplish.
Physical training only develops strength and reflexes. Actual development of skills and learning takes place in the mind. If you want to excel, if you want to move past your current limitations, you can. You can break down mental blocks and develop the skills that turn average athletes into champions. The power is in your subconscious mind. You can tap into that tremendous power through hypnosis and visualization. The instructor for this workshop is Dr. Philip Holder

The Theory of Past Lives: Instructor - TBA

People who have a strong sense of a past life have often experienced one (or more). The most direct way to access past life experience is through hypnosis. Course Instructor, Dr. Philip Holder, will help you to better understand the theory of past lives and how those past life experiences can have impact within your current life experience. Dr. Holder will be asking for volunteers who would like to explore past lives in class. This class is educational, interesting, and provides a great time for all.
